Port Blair, Dec 21: In view of celebration of New Year & X-Mas festival, a special drive is being conducted by A&N Police to curb the incidents of drunken driving.
In this regard the general public is advised that when they go to bars and restaurants or other functions with their families, friends or individually they should be accompanied with a non-drinking driver/person on their vehicle to avoid drinking driving for the safety of the driver and public.
Further General public is also advised to obtain permission from the competent authority for organizing festivals/parties on the eve of X-Mas & New Year, so that police can make adequate security arrangements at the venue.
