Port Blair, Dec 16: All Clinical Establishments, NGOs and Volunteer organizations are hereby informed that eye operations are to be done only in fixed operation theatres exclusive for eye surgeries. Camps are permitted only for screening of patients and bringing them to the base hospital for eye surgeries. All NGOs and voluntary organizations approved under NPCB need to sign a MOU with the authority as per the Guidelines issued under NPCB, which are available on the website www.npcb.nic.in. – “Guidelines for Eye Surgery” and “Guidelines for Eye OT”.
All organizations operating, but not registered under NPCB are required to obtain necessary permission from the State Health Authority for approval of hospital for OPD work and operation theater for conducting eye surgery.
In case of any negligence on the part of Clinical Establishments, NGOs and Volunteer organizations appropriate penal action will be initiated against them.
