Port Blair, Dec 16: The Department of Fisheries has taken strong note of reports that few fishermen of these Islands discard the dead fishes and their wastes in the beaches and the sea near Fish Landing Centres. These dead and decaying fishes attract crocodiles, which poses a serious threat to visitors and local residents.
The fishermen have been hereby advised not to throw dead and decaying fish from their catch on the beaches and the sea near Fish Landing Centres. They have also been requested to cooperate with the Andaman and Nicobar Administration to keep the beaches of these Islands clean and to provide a safe environment to the tourists.
