Puducherry 03: The Lt Governor of A&N Islands and Puducherry, Lt Gen AK Singh (Retd), has been personally monitoring the flood situation in Puducherry and taking stock of the relief and rescue operations. The Lt Governor, presently camping at Puducherry, is monitoring the situation on a regular basis alongwith all the senior officers. He personally went around the city to see those areas which are inundated, and ordered the officers to ensure that adequate relief is made available to the affected people. The government machinery has geared up accordingly. While there has been damage to crops, livestock and infrastructure, loss of life has been minimised. Also all essential services has been functioning despite the severe downpour & floods. These actions have reinforced the confidence of the people in the Administration of the UT.
