Port Blair, Dec 13: The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands demanded immediate restructuring of the Amalgamated Information Technology Cadre of the A & N Administration. In a letter sent to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Shri TS Sreekumar, General Secretary of the Association said that the Association has been demanding the restructuring of the Amalgamated IT Cadre of the A & N Administration with the Secretary (IT) and Special Secretary (IT) during the last few years. He said that the Association had brought to the notice of the Administration the widespread stagnation prevailing among the employees belonging to the Amalgamated IT Cadre.
The Association informed the Chief Secretary that during a meeting with the Special Secretary (IT) by a delegation of the Association on 12th December, 2013, the issue was discussed in detail and he had agreed to process the case for approval of the Administration. The issue was subsequently followed up with the Administration several times. Shri Sreekumar informed the Chief Secretary that despite taking up the matter constantly with the authorities concerned, the restructuring of the Amalgamated IT Cadre has not been carried out as has been done in the case of other organized cadres in the Administration.
