Port Blair, Nov 29: A two days Science, Arts & Craft exhibition was organized by the Education Department at Govt. Model Secondary School on 23/11/2015 & 24/11/2015 by involving all the schools under the zone who have actively participated by displaying their exhibits.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Smti. Ayesha Majid, Chairperson, Tribal Council, Nancowrie on 23/11/2015 at 0900 Hrs by cutting the traditional ribbon after which Shri. S.K. Ghosh, AEO, Nancowrie delivered the welcome speech and gave his sincere gratitude to all concerned in organizing the exhibition especially the Schools of far-flung areas who have come to take part in the exhibition. During the function after witnessing the exhibits displayed by various schools under the zone she applauded and appreciated the initiatives & ideas as showcased by the students through their exhibits and the craftsmanship of the students in preparation of the models. The exhibition was also witnessed by all the local head of Department and was kept open throughout the day for the general public and the villagers.
The valedictory function was held on 24/11/2015 at 1600 Hrs during which Shri Yashiv Parekh, Executive Engineer, APWD, Kamorta was the Chief Guest. During the function a cultural programme was also organized by the students of different schools under the zone. The Chief Guest while addressing the students and the gathering lauded the efforts made by the students who have participated in the exhibition in bringing out their ideas and innovative, further also of the view that the endeavors are highly commendable. He also underlined the sincere efforts made by the Education and all line departments in organizing the exhibition and especially the support rendered by the parents in motivating their children in participating in the exhibition.
