Port Blair, Nov 17: A 28 years old man namely Veteran a security guard by profession died today at 05:00pm after being hit by a private bus of Haran Travels at Delanipur near Teal House.
As per sources, the accident happened due to some negligence of the bus driver. The victim was taken to hospital by the police but later he succumbed to his injuries.
In an yet another incident, which took place this afternoon at around 12:00pm near Marine Dockyard a car driver hit some two wheelers. The accident took place because of negligence of the car driver, who has learnt to drive recently.
Fortunately, no one injured in the accident.
Further at 12:30pm two bikes collided with each other near Nirmala School. The reason behind the accident is not yet known, but both the riders suffered major injuries. Both the riders are admitted in the G B Pant Hospital, Port Blair.
Specially the Bus owners of Port Blair city should ensure the safety of passenger as well as general public those are walking road side for their daily routine. Some drivers driving the bus by consuming high liquor and the main issue is that few drivers think that I am the king of Port Blair city.
Transport Authority must warn the bus drivers regarding parking of the bus and overtaking issues which cause lot of damages to general public as well as their family members.
During challan hours I think Police Department must ask the general public those are travelling by local bus whether they are feeling safe or not.
I am requesting the entire Police Department please take care of the general public by terror which is creating by the bus driver in Port Blair city as well as other part of the Islands.
