Port Blair, November 17: In yet another case passengers staging protest onboard DSS vessel due to lack of amenities, the MV Kalighat’s sailing was delayed for nearly two and a half hours.
According to reports, MV Kalighat was about to sail today at 03:00 pm for all ports in Nicobar District from Port Blair but as the Air Conditioning system is not working in the vessel, the passengers staged protest.
It is learnt that to solve the issue, Assistant Director, Directorate of Shipping Services, Mr Banerjee and Deputy Director in-charge, visited the vessel and after long session of negotiation the passengers agreed to cooperate and the ship left the port at 05:30pm today.
