Port Blair, Nov 17: A team of Anti Corruption Unit arrested Shri. Abdul Siddique, Higher Grade Clerk-cum-Cashier posted at Govt. Book Depot, Port Blair on 17/11/2015 for demanding and accepting illegal gratification in the form of Cheque of Rs. 8000/-.
On 17/11/2015, a written complaint was received at Anti Corruption Unit that one official of Govt. Book Depot, Port Blair is demanding bribe for depositing the service cheque of the Retired Govt. Servant (Complainant) in the State Bank of India. A team was formed and trap was laid by the trap team. The Anti Corruption Unit caught Shri. Abdul Siddique, Higher Grade Clerk- cum- Cashier, Govt. Book Depot, Port Blair red handed while demanding and accepting a cheque of Rs. 8000/- from the complainant. Subsequently he has been arrested under Prevention of Corruption Act and FIR has been registered at PS Anti Corruption under relevant section of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
