Billyground, November 16: Two Autorickshaws collided with each other at Nimbudera area in Middle Andaman yesterday at about 7.45 pm. One person namely Gourango Mondal, aged 25 yrs, R/o Tugapur was severely injured in the incident.
According to reports, the driver of the Autorickshaw, coming from Tugapur and was going towards Nimbudera, was under heavy influence of liquor and was also carrying extra number of passengers in his Autorickshaw.
As per reports, two passenger including Mr Gourango Mondal was sitting on the front seat of the Autorickshaw near the Autorickshaw driver.
As the Auto driver, namely Mr Projit Bala aged 22yrs R/o Tugapur, was under heavy influence of liquor, he lost his control over his Auto and hit another Autorickshaw which was coming from opposite direction.
It is learnt that Mr Gourango Mondal suffered multiple fracture in his right leg and he is being referred to Port Blair G B Pant Hospital for further treatment.
On information a team of Billyground Police rushed the spot and controlled the situation. It is learnt that a case has being registered under section 279,338 IPC & 185 MV Act. It is also learnt that because of the accident the ATR got jammed for nearly half an hour.
