Port Blair, Oct 15: A workshop on ‘Smart City Proposal’ was organized on Friday by the Department of Urban Development and PBMC in the conference hall of Megapode Resort. The meeting was chaired by the Principal Secretary (UD), Chairperson, PBMC and the Secretary, PBMC.
The workshop focused on capacity building of the elected representatives, prioritizing the Smart City components, issues and problems at Area based and pan city level, SWOT analysis of the city and a vision statement. Based on the outcome of the workshop ‘Citizen Participation Plan’ is being rolled out to reach out the residents of 24 wards of Port Blair inviting their opinions and aspiration to make Port Blair a Smart City.
