Port Blair, Oct 14: A police team led by ASI Omkar Singh, I/c OP Tirur alongwith the field staff of AAJVS, Forester and PMF during joint patrolling by Police FIB MV Aberdeen apprehended two engine dinghies and four fishermen for trespassing into the Jarawa reserve area and fishing through fishing line on Tuesday.
All the arrested fishermen namely Gourango Mazumdar (55) yrs, Sameer Sarkar(29) yrs, Dilip Biswas (26) yrs and Sachin Mondal (50) Yrs, all R/o, Sitapur, Shantanu, Kataidera, Kadamtala were booked under sections 7/8 of A&N PAT Reg. 1956 vide case crime No.84/15 dated 13/10/2015 registered at PS Ograbraj. Further investigation is in progress.
