Port Blair, Oct 06: As a part of the ongoing Swachha Bharat Abhiyan and celebration of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd of October 2015 the students of Music Department, Andaman College (ANCOL) carried out cleanliness drive from Megapode Junction, Haddo seashore road to P.S. Chatham.
Garbage items like Bottles, waste plastic wrappers, paper cartoons, plastic and paper bags, decaying materials like remains of dead animals and odorous wastes which are severely harmful to the health and minds were all collected and disposed in the dustbins of Municipal Board under the guidance of Shri. Avinash HOD Music, Shri. Santosh Kr. Yadav faculty of Music Dept. and other faculties of ANCOL.
Earlier inaugurating the cleanliness drive the Principal of the college Dr.R.Dev Das explained to the students and the faculties about the importance of cleanliness in every sphere of life and motivated the students to inculcate good habits in life. The cleanliness drive started at 9am and concluded at 11am.
