Port Blair, Aug 14: As part of its efforts to bring administration closer to people living in rural areas, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Ms V.K. Mariyam Bibi inaugurated a Multipurpose camp in the presence of Smt. Shanta Laxman Singh, Ex-Chairperson (SWAB), Ms Rashmi Krishnan, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Mr Anand Amrit Raj, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman and Mr M.N. Murali, Director of Social Welfare, under the programme “ZILLA PARISHAD AAPKE PAAS-AAPKE SAATH” in association with PRI, Social Welfare, Revenue and Health Departments on Friday in the Community Hall, Tushnabad. The camp was aimed at facilitating rural residents in getting old age pension, Widow pension, Destitute Assistance and Disability Assistance etc.
PRI Members of Gram Panchayat Tushnabad, Mithakhari, Guptapara, Humphrygunj, Chouldari, Namunaghar, Ferrargunj & Brindaban actively participated and gave wide publicity for making the camp beneficial to the rural people. During the camp, necessary guidance in filling up of forms, examinations of requisite documents, medical examination were taken up. Various assistance were sanctioned on the spot wherever conditions were fulfilled. Officers and staff of Zilla Parishad, Health Department, Revenue Department and Social Welfare Department took active part in the camp and helped the people in getting their cases settled/finalized.
