Port Blair, Aug 13: As part of Kala Kendra, to begin with, an Art Gallery and Studio has been set up in the premises of the Gandhi Park, Port Blair. Chief Secretary, A &N Administration will inaugurate the ‘Art Gallery & Studio’ on the eve of Independence Day on 14th August 2015 at 6 p.m in the Gandhi Park premises.
On this occasion an exhibition of art works of about fifteen artistes of these islands will be exhibited.
The ‘Art Gallery & Studio’ would be the first of its kind in these islands which would provide a platform to visual artistes practising painting and sculpture to showcase their immense talent and also learn perfection through various workshops proposed to be organized by engaging eminent artistes of national and international fame. It would be a ‘dream come true project ‘for the artistes’ fraternity of these islands who have been demanding an Art Gallery and Studio since long time.
This would be developed as a place where established and upcoming artists can interact and acquire in-depth experience to perfect their skills. Moreover, it will also provide opportunity to all the art lovers to come and learn painting and sculpture under the guidance of eminent artistes of these islands. All the art lovers and general public are invited to attend the function.
