Port Blair, Aug 13: After the tsunami of December 2004, 6 two wheelers bearing Regn. No.AN01 A-7257, AN-8998, AN01 C-9066, AN01 D-1176, AN01 A-5868, MH-12VA-4457 and 9 two wheelers without Regn. No. and a pick up van (407) without Regn. No. (all badly damaged) were found lying unclaimed in different villages of Nicobar, which were brought to the Police Station and kept in the Police Station Complex by the then SHO/local police. Thereafter the local police of Car Nicobar made sincere efforts to trace out the owners of the said vehicles lying in the Police Station Complex but till today no claimant has turned up.
Therefore, once again it is being brought in the notice of the general public to come forward and visit the Police Station Car Nicobar to identify the said vehicles, if any, with supporting documents within ten days from tomorrow i.e. 13.08.2015. In case, no claimant turns up, the vehicles will be put on public auction after observing all codal formalities for which the Police Department shall not be responsible. Further, inspection of the vehicles can be conducted in the PS complex by the general public by contacting SI K.P Abdul Gafoor, SHO, PS Car Nicobar, Mob. No. 9474221857 and land line no.03193-265242 on any day till 23.08.2015, said the SP, Nicobar District in a release.
