Port Blair, Aug 12: The Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Ms V.K.Mariyam Bibi inaugurated the Muslim Graveyard shed constructed by the Zilla Parishad, South Andaman at Stewartgunj on Wednesday. Mr P. Abdul Aziz, Pradhan, Stewartgunj Gram Panchayat and the other villagers of the area were present on the occasion.
In her address, the Adhyaksha said that the Graveyard shed will now enable the villagers of the Gram Panchayats to offer homage and prayer during the last rites of the departed soul. Construction of such Graveyard shed has been a long pending demand of the villagers of the area. The Graveyard shed would be beneficial for the residents of the Stewartgunj and other villagers of adjoining areas, a release says.
