Port Blair, Aug 5: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Govt. of India in collaboration with the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., Camp Office at Port Blair will organize a painting competition on ‘energy conservation’ under two categories viz. Category- A for all the students studying in class 4th, 5th & 6th in the Govt., Govt. aided and private schools of A&N Islands and Category-B for all the students studying in class 7th, 8th & 9th in the Govt., Govt. aided and private schools of A&N Islands.
The theme of the topic of the painting competition will be ‘save energy, save environment’ and ‘leaks make your future bleak’ for students of Category-A while for category while the category-B it will be ‘save electricity to light more homes’ and ‘don’t be cruel, conserve your fuel’. The topic for Category-A (Hindi) will be ‘kukudu ku suraj nikla, light jalaey kyun?’ Similarly, the topic for Hindi in Category-B is ‘LED bulb ek sahi soch’.
The painting competition at the school level will be conducted by all the respective Heads of Schools by September 30, 2015, who will submit two best paintings from each school of both categories separately to the State Nodal Officer, Chief Manager, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. CAO, Quarter No. JG/07, Type-V, Junglighat, Old Councilor quarters, Port Blair or to the Principal, SIE along with the annexure latest by October 10, 2015. The duration of the competition is 2 hrs.
All the zonal officers of Education Department and all Heads of Education Institutions have been requested to ensure full participation of the students in this painting competition. Best 50 paintings will be selected from both categories separately by a selection committee/ jury from the entire entries received and the State Level Painting Competition will be held for the selection 50 students of each category on Nov. 6, 2015 at Port Blair.
