Port Blair, July 16: Shri. Raajiv Yaduvanshi, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary (Edn.) A&N Administration paid a visit to Tagore Govt. College of Education, Port Blair to get acquainted with the functioning of the College on 16/07/2015 at 10:00 a.m. During the visit, he saw various infrastructures developed by the College like Computer Lab, Library, Conference Room, Museum, Microteaching Lab etc. and expressed his happiness over the development of the College.
During his interaction with the staff members on the occasion, he recalled the contributions of Indian Mathematicians, Philosophers and Scientists in the field of Mathematics, Science, Education and Language. He emphasized the need and importance of Mathematics, Computer Science, Language and Psychology in Education. He desired to strengthen these areas in Teacher Training programme so that efficient teachers can be produced to meet the present day requirement and teachers of international level can be produced by the College. He assured all help on behalf of the Administration to further strengthen the training programme. He also wanted further dialog to strengthen Mathematics and Psychology in the College.
Earlier, Dr. J.D. Singh, Principal of the College highlighted the growth and development of the College in detail and suggested some new additions for further development like creation and filling up of posts, construction of hostel and other physical infrastructure required to run two years B.Ed. programme as per NCTE Regulations 2014and to add new courses in existing Teacher Education programme.
