Port Blair, June 10: The survey tender for Chatham Bambooflat Bridge will be called soon. In a press conference held at the BJP Bhawan today, the State President of Bhartiya Janta party Mr Vishal Jolly said that he visited the office of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways recently to know the current status of the Chatham Bambooflat bridge, where he has learnt that the survey tender for the bridge will be called soon.
However he said that the parties involved in this project have asked them for an extension of 15 days which have been approved.
Further he said that the Daily Rated Majdoors working in the Port Blair Municipal Council are not getting their salaries in time and the labourers in muster roll in PBMC have also not received their salaries from last two months due to which they are suffering very badly.
He further added that earlier the PBMC had only one Accountant but currently they are having three Account officers and four Accountants and therefore Mr Jolly demanded that the Chairperson should tell public about the reasons for this delay in payment and also demanded to release their payment on time. He said that if payments are not released on time Bhartiya Janta Party will take all necessary action.
During the Press Conference Jolly said that there will be a review of the Shekhar Singh Commission Report soon. He said that recently there was a meeting of the concerned Ministries, during which it was decided to review the decade old report.
During the press conference Mr Nand Kishor Singh, Ex Secretary of Consumer Cooperative Society Ltd have also joined the Bhartiya Janta Party.
Mr Jolly further added that this time if BJP supported candidates win the CCS elections then in place of alcohol shops, CCS will open chemist shops. The CCS will start door to door delivery of Fertilizers, pesticides, seeds etc. CCS will start share holders rebate system, will improve the LPG cylinders delivery system and will try to make the CCS a profit earning organization.
