Port Blair, Apr 16: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee A & N Islands met Mr. P. Chidambaram, Honorable Union Home Minister on 12/04/2012 at New Delhi and stressed upon for immediate sanction and payment of Compensation to Cultivators who have lost their paddy fields, Plantations, in the Tsunami in 2004.
Mr. Sharma also discussed and stressed for increasing the MBBS seats from 18 to 30 for the students of these islands. Mr. Sharma demanded that the students of this territory be allotted seats in reputed NIITS at mainland.
Grievances and Issues of Forests Plantation & Development Corporation’s employees were also discussed at length. Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma demanded that the employees of the Corporation who are in large numbers be provided benefits of 6th Pay Commission and they may be merged in Andaman & Nicobar Administration. The Minister gave a patience hearing and assured to look into.
