Billyground, June 07: Andaman & Nicobar Police under the advise and guidelines of DGP started to organize awareness camp among the women community all over the Islands. Today, the 07.06.2015 M.Sarvanan, SHO. PS, Billyground, Middle ANdaman conducted a awareness Camp at Pinakinagar Mahila Mondal Multipurpose Hall under Gram Panchayat Harinagar, Middle Andaman.
The main objectives of today’s camp was to create awareness among the women folks against the Domestic Violence, Beti Bachao Beti Padao, role of women in making a Swatch Bharat and how they could make themselves stronger and secure by their own endeavor.
On the occasion a large no of women from different Self Help Groups of the Billyground area participated in the camp. Mr. M.Sarvanan,SHO, PS Billyground welcomed and address the gathering in beautiful way. He elaborately explained before the gathering that how a Domestic violence took place in our own houses and how the family members suffered from it. Mr. Sarvanan very vividly explained the way how a woman can play a vital role to make a full stop in such domestic violence. He gives very inspirational speech on the importance of women folks in making a Swatch Bharat and how they could make themselves stronger and secure by their own effort. He explained about all the policies of Govt. and laws for the development and progress of the women community. Miss. Sneha Roy (PC) also very descriptive way explained about the domestic violence and the ways to come out and to protect them from such victimization.
Moreover, every woman folks present in the camp was very much delighted for organizing such knowledgeable awareness Camp by the SHO, Billyground. It was found that during the speech some women folks inspired in such a way they get up and began to narrate about their suffering and complaint that in Pinakinagar Yuva Samity, huge quantity of Liquors are sold illegally by some anti social elements. Not only that they further said that gambling is also played there in the club in the mid night. All the women folks present in the meeting urged before the SHO to take an immediate action and shutdown the Club after 7.30pm.
It was an eye opening incident in Billyground area. Every person appreciated the A & N Police specially DGP and Mr. Sarvanan, SHO Billyground.
