Port Blair, Apr 09: The PCC President and member State Sports Council Kuldeep Rai Sharma has written a letter to the Secretary Sports wherein he has stated that, for betterment of sports and games, involvement of the people of each of the 9 (nine) regions need to be increased and one way to achieve
This is by making the local people themselves responsible. Hence, apparently to achieve this, the helm of affairs need to be given in the hands of the representative of the local bodies such as PRIs, Municipal Council and Tribal Councils; of course supported by the local administration and sports department of A&N Islands.
Since, in the above nine regions, though representative of local bodies have been included but in few regions participation of such representations were ignored, hence Kuldeep has suggested that in all the nine Regional Sports Councils, Chairmanship need to be given to local body representatives for the betterment and upliftment of the sports in these islands.
