Port Blair, Mar 27: In a solemn function to be held at Sath Sapooth Park, Marine Hill, Dugnabad on Mar 30 at 9 am, floral tributes will be paid to the seven distinguished govt. servants of the then provisional government of A&N Islands, who were done to death by the Japanese Occupation Forces on Mar 30, 1943 during the Second World War. The seven distinguished Govt. servants were S/Shri Narayan Rao, Gopala Krishna, Itter Singh, Dr. Surendra Nath Nag, Abdul Khalid, Subeder Major Suba Khan and Chotta Singh. The solemn function is being organised by ‘Swadheenta Sangram Senani Vanshaj Samity’.
The Chairman and Councillors of PBMC, Officers of A&N Administration, family members of the deceased and islanders will pay tributes on the occasion, a communication said.
