Port Blair, Mar 22: The State TB Control Society, A&N Islands will be celebrating World TB Day along with the rest of the country under Revised National TB Control Programme on the theme ‘reach, treat, cure everyone’ by arranging various IEC activities to create awareness on prevention and control of tuberculosis among the community. On the occasion, a rally of school students has been conducted from the premises of Cellular Jail to Aberdeen Bus Stand and back on Mar. 24, 2015 at 9 am to create awareness on TB and New Treatment Strategy DOTS among the general public, which will be flagged off by the Director of Health Services/Mission Director (UTHM).
A function will be held in the auditorium of GB Pant Hospital, in which cash prizes will be distributed to the winners of the essay competitions conducted at schools. The Joint Secretary (RNTCP) will sensitize the gathering about TB on the occasion, a communication here said.
