Port Blair, Mar 11: A fire was reported from one of the MES quarters at Buniyadabad this evening at about 8.13 PM. According to reports probably due to leakage, fire spread over the gas pipe inside a kitchen, triggering panic among public of the colony.
On information three fire tenders from Bazaar, Haddo and Chatham reached the spot and control the fire before it could cause any damage. According to public timely action by Police Control Room for passing information to Fire Brigade and swift action of Fire Services averted a major fire accident at MES colony
