Port Blair, Mar 11: Acting on a tip of secret information, that one person namely Sh. V.K. Nasir S/o V.K. Aboocker (35)yrs R/o Malapuram, Mannarghat was keeping illegal Padauk timber in his premises, a CID team comprising of SI Vishal Ram alongwith Head Constable Ibrahim Ali, Mohd. Raffique, PC’s Vinod Kr. Pillai, Souman Biswas, Tamil Selvam, Arun Xaxa, Jayraj, Milton Baul, Seema Marky, T Latha and HG(D)/ Shanmuk Rao conducted raid in the premises ofSh. V.K. Nasir on 08/03/15 and recovered about 0.6 cbm Padauk timber. The above forest products were seized U/s 52 Indian Forest Act 1927 in presence of independent witnesses. The seized Padauk timber alongwith the apprehended person Sh. V.K. Nasir was handed over to the Forest officials of Mannarghat Range for further action.
