Port Blair, Feb 12: The ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, CIARI, Nimbudera has organized a three days training programme from 10/02/15 to 12/02/15 on ‘Balanced Diet For Rural Women And Children’ for practicing farmwomen at Govindapur under the supervision of Dr. Nagesh Ram, Programme Coordinator KVK . Smt. Maloti Bagachi, Gram Pradhan Basantipur was the chief guest of the inaugural function who appreciated all the efforts taken by CIARI for establishing KVK at Nimbudera and urged the trainees to utilize the training activities conducted by KVK to its fullest. She also encouraged the participants to have a nutritious balanced diet in their daily life as well as to spread awareness in their neighborhood about its importance . Dr. Shailesh , SMS(Fisheries ) welcomed the gathering and briefed about the mandates, objectives and future activities of KVK. Dr. Pooja Kapoor ,SMS(Home Science), briefed about the objectives of the training programme and emphasized on its practical application in the day to day life. Shri D. Basantiya, SMS (Horticulture) imparted knowledge on the role of fruits and vegetables in daily diet. Altogether 25 farmwomen participated on the first day of the training programme .The training programme is conducted under the guidance of Dr. S.Dam Roy, Director ,CIARI, Port Blair.
