Port Blair, Feb 08: The 3rd Diglipur Vikas Mela 2015 which was inaugurated by Lt Governor Lt Gen A K Singh (Retd) on 1st Feb concluded today. The main attraction this year was the Central Govt Scheme themes adopted by various departmental stalls.
About 50,000 people visited the mela from various places including Port Blair Hutbay and all nearby villages. Apart from Govt. Departments, private general stalls, food stalls participated. Various schools and Organizations performed daily cultural programmes during this week long Mela. The Mela continued seamlessly and peacefully with the assistance of Police department, Fire, APWD, Electricity besides PRI’s.
Adhyaksh ZP N & M Andaman Shri. Srinivasan, Asst. Commissioner Shri. Arava Gopi Krishna.IAS, Pramukh Shri Gauranga Dutta, CEO ZP, N & M Andaman Shri Tej Bahadur participated in the closing ceremony.
Best Govt Stall the prize was awarded to the Department of Industries which was received by the IPO Shri Haneef. The Theme of the stall was ‘Make in India’ The Second prize awarded to The Agriculture stall.
The theme of this year was ‘Organic Farming’. The Prize was received by the Asst. Director. Mrs. Sri Devi. The Third prize bagged by ICDS. The Theme of ICDS was’Beti Bachav’
