Port Blair, Jan 21: The ABVP on the 20th of January organised a demand rally to press the long pending demands of hostel inmates’ stipend hike. The rally was led by ABVP’s State Secretary, Mr. Kaleshwaran. In his address he highlighted about the stipend issue, sub –standard food and the administration’s negligence even after frequent letter correspondence in this issue by ABVP, he also mentioned about the ABVP’s delegation that even met the Lt. Governor earlier and demanded stipend hike but no steps in this regard could be seen till date and if demands are not met ABVP will organize further agitations.
The rally started from JNRM to Tiranga park where students numbered in hundreds staged protest over this long pending demand ABVP to raise the stipend from Rs.1000 to 2000.
