Car Nicobar, Dec 26: A mild earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale hit Nicobar Island today, the 10th anniversary day of Tsunami 2004.
According to the Meteorological department, earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred at 06:30 pm at Nicobar Islands. The epicentre of the earthquake was Lat. 06.7°N Long. 94.5°E. There was no report of any damage or casualty due to the tremor so far.
