Port Blair, Dec 24: Possession of the International Passport has been made compulsory by the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai for the intending Haj Pilgrims desirous of undergoing Haj since 2011 onwards. In this connection, all the intending applicants of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been requested to get their passport ready before announcement of Haj – 2015 likely to be made by the Haj Committee of India, Mumbai in the end of January – 2015.
The existing passport holders have also been advised to check the validity of their passports and get it renewed at least up to 31.03.2016. The intending applicants for Haj–2015 should also ensure that their passport contains at-least two empty visa pages adjacent to each other.
Attaching a copy of cancelled cheque having the IFS Code along with the application form is also made compulsory from Haj 2012 onwards. This is to ensure speedy disposal of refunds, if any. If the intending applicant has a Bank Account in a non-IFS code bank, they should open an Account with a bank having IFS code. If the intending applicants do not have any bank Account, they should open an Account with a Bank having IFS code, a communication said.
