Port Blair, Dec 23: The members of Peoples’ Movement of Human Rights Welfare Association, Andaman Branch has highlighted various issues of the people of the islands and also highlighted the problems faced by the Small Scale Saw Mill owners and their employees.
In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, TPMHRWA stated that due to closure of all Private Saw mills, 5 make shift unit has been given to selected saw mill owners without informing others.
Further in their letter the members of TPMHRWA requested the PM to reopen all the saw mills or to provide 5 make shift saw mills in routine basis to all saw mills owners instead providing it to only 5 selected saw mill owners which will result in increasing employment to number of isles youth as well all saw mills owners will earn equal benefits.
