Port Blair, Dec 14: The Ferrargunj Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sunil Kumar has submitted the details of the developments being enjoyed by the total populace of 3188 under the Ferrargunj gram panchayat and has requested the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman about further developments required under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
Some of the demands include desilting of Sonapahar, Beach Dera and Jinga Nallah Dam, increasing the height of jinga nallah dam, construction of overhead water tank of 60,000 ltr capacity at Jaisree land, Aniket Village, and Police out post at Tanki Basti and water connection in all residential houses are considered.
He has also demanded beautification of Ferrargunj Junction, construction of road side parking area for vehicles waiting for convoy at Jirkatang Check post- 2,construction of vegetable market at Ferrargunj, higher educational centre for diploma and degree courses, laying of underground cable for HT line, providing of high mast light at Ferrargunj junction and Jirkatang check post- 2, replacement of all damaged electric poles, setting up of 5 MW solar power station, development of Fish market, regular visit of super specialists at PHCs, posting of night shift doctor at PHCs, providing sonography,ECT,CT scan facilities, establishment of industrial estate to setup small scale industries, training centre for skilled development, working women hostel, garbage dumping space, sulabh sauchalaya at Jirkatang check post- 2, renovation of toilets at Ferrarganj, toilet facilities for all houses, development of play ground and construction of mini stadium and marriage hall, opening of branches of Nationalised Banks with ATM facility etc which are the major and immediate requirements for an “Adarsh Gram”.
