Port Blair, Dec 01: Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament, A & N Islands stationed at New Delhi met with Mr. Arun Jetly, the Finance Minister today and expressed his gratitude for according sanction for creation of 132 posts under various categories of Motor Transport Department.
During discussion, Mr. Ray has also raised the issue regarding allotment of additional fund of Rs.400 crores under the annual plan 2014-15 in RE stage and in subsequent year under the PRI’s sector, particularly for construction / development of rural roads including bridges and culverts for the benefit of Islanders.
Apart from the discussion on various issues, Mr. Ray has further requested the Minister of finance for re-consideration of the matter for up-gradation of pay scales of ACF/Rangers of Forest Department and also for revision of pay scale of bus conductors and Checking Inspectors of STS Department, A & N Administration. The Minister of finance assured to intervene in the matter and to re-look the above issues.
Besides that, Mr. Ray has also apprised the Minister of Finance about the wastage of plan fund under unwanted sectors by the A &N Administration, which amount to a criminal wastage of public fund.
