Diglipur, Dec 01: To motivate and sensitize the farming community about creating an ecofriendly environment through organic farming the department of Agriculture has organized method demonstration on organic cultivation of vegetable under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY ) Project “ Promotion of Organic farming’’ at Sitanagar on 28th November 2014 at 10.30 am in the field of Shri. Surjakanta Halder.
Smti. Sreedevi, Assisstant Director, Agriculture, Diglipur welcomed the gathering. In her welcome address, she urged the farmers to take up organic farming and to cultivate organically by adopting all the technological activities and using the inputs like organic manures, green manures, bio fertilizers, biopesticides,pheromone traps etc.
During the technical session demonstration on seed treatment using bioproducts was shown.Smti. Bhu Bharthi Agriculture Assistant, Diglipur gave brief lecture on the land preparation and application of organic inputs for vegetables.
All together 25 farmers including PRI, farmer friends participated actively in the programme.The programme was co- ordinated by Block Technology Manager and Assistant Technology Managers.
Similarly a method demonstration was organized on organic cultivation of pulses in the field of Shri. Sushanto Mondal, R/o Nabagram on 24th November 2014 at 3.00pm,wherein seed treatment of pulses with organic products was demonstrated describing its benefits, Scope of pulse cultivation, its type and role of pulses in human diet was discussed in detail bySmti.Sreedevi, Assistant Director, Agriculture, Diglipur.
Smti. Shirly Thomas, Agriculture Officer, Diglipur emphasised on biofertilizers and biopesticides available and its usage.
