Diglipur, Nov 30: The high tension political drama, on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Statue Installation, is seems to be over. Since last more than one month the statue of National Hero Netaji SC Bose is lying on the floor of Gram Panchayat Subhash Gram.
As of now a few IRBn jawans have been posted at Gram Panchayat Subhash Gram in 24 hour duty to protect the statue, perhaps from people, who are fighting for the honour of Netaji.
According to sources around 12 IRBn Jawans were earlier sent to Diglipur for anti-poaching duty but ultimately they were sent for the guard duty of the statue. It has been found by Andaman Sheekha that presently eight IRBn Jawans are guarding the Statue 24X7 while a few are in leave and some are ill.
One wonders if the IRBn Jawans are asked to do guard duty of the statue, then who is presently guarding our Islands from poachers. If poachers enter out Islands commits some crime in the area then who will be held responsible?
The Panchayat Building is new and has many rooms. One can easily keep the statue in one of the rooms and lock it rather than putting so many IRBn Jawans on guard duty the IRBn must utilize their service, where it is needed most.
On the other hand the Statue Installation issue has been forgotten by people and perhaps by our political leaders also. The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray who had promised many more strikes if the statue is not reinstalled, is also silent in this issue while the Nataji’s statue is resting in peace in dust.
