Port Blair, Nov 27: A three-day seminar of Scouts and Guides for the Scout Masters/Cub Masters and Guide Captains/Flock Leaders was organized in the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Education Officer, Mayabunder from 24th November 2014 to 26th November 2014. Altogether 31 Scout Masters and Guide Captains participated in the seminar.
Mr. Mammen Thomas, District Chief Commissioner(S&G), Deputy Education Officer was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. The Chief Guest garlanded the portrait of Lord Baden Powell and Lady Baden Powell and inaugurated the seminar by lighting the lamp. He urged the participants to take advantage of the seminar and thus help the students to be good citizens.
Mr. Natarajan, Pre-ALT(S), Mr. Samir Kumar Das, HWB and Mr. M.C.Prasanna Kumar, Scout Master conducted the classes and the participants were imparted an effective training based on various activities and the syllabus of Scout Masters and Guide Captains.
On 26th November 2014 the participants prepared gadgets and displayed the same tastefully which was appraised by Mr. Ch. Raja Rao, Pradhan, Mayabunder Gram Panchayat, the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony. A brief report on the three-day seminar was read out by Mr. Natarajan, Pre-ALT(S). The Scouts and Guides shared their experience of the seminar with the guests present on the occasion. The Chief Guest in his address applauded the works of the participants and stated that other organizations have also to come forward with such social gestures as the Scouts and Guides of Mayabunder zone has been performing for the past years.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. S.C.Roy, Assistant Supervisor of Sports and the in-charge, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Mayabunder Educational zone and the programme` came to an end.
