Port Blair, Nov 19: Indian Red Cross society, Andaman Branch, organized 03 days District Level Training for First Medical Reponds (FMRs) at Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College (MGGC), Mayabunder w.e.f. 16th November to 18th November 2014. Dr. Tulshidashan, Honorary Secretary, Red Cross Society, UT Level was chaired the programme and in his opening speech hailed the significance of IRC, its activities in the post – disaster and further stressed the youth can act as catalyst to save precious lives.
He appealed the NSS Volunteers to join hands together and serve humanity with dedication. Dr. R.V.R. Murthy, NSS programme officer, MGGC also spoke on the occasion and appealed NSS volunteers to draw the benefits of such programs. Mr. Venkat Raman, Disaster Management facilateor, Shri Shri Chanchal Singh Roy, facilator for IRD delivered power Point presentation and hand on training was imparted to NSS volunteers.
Smti. Geeta Devi, DM Co-coordinator and Ms. Mridul Mansha, IRC volunteers have coordinated the programe. Altogether 52 NSS volunteers attended and actively participated in interactive session. Dr. B.Prabhuram, Principal (I/c) and Mr. B.S.Meera Shetty, Head Commerce Department gave away the certificates to eligible trainees on concluding day.
