Port Blair, Nov 17: The A & N State Coop. Union has organised a function on the occasion of the 61st All India Cooperative Week Celebration on 15th Nov, 2014 at Gram Panchayat, Hope town. Dr. Shashi Kumar, PCCF, Department of Environment & Forest, A & N Administration was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme was also attended by Ms. Mariyam Bibi, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANSCU, various senior cooperators and a large gathering of women and local residents of Hope town.
The welcome address was delivered by Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANSCU. In his address, he has appraised the various initiatives undertaken by ANSCU in the cooperative movement of this Island. He has assured that the ANSCU shall open a computer center for the unemployed people of the area very shortly which shall benefit the local residents in large.
Ms. Mariyam Bibi in her address appreciated the efforts of ANSCU in mobilizing the benefits for the unemployed youths of this Island. She also appraised that SHGs are the integral part of Cooperative movement.
She has urged the people to come forward and make new SHGs and take part in income generation of their group through Bank’s finance.
Shri. Abdul Aziz, Cooperator also spoke on the occasion and urged all the members present in the programme for take active part in the Cooperative movement.
Dr. Sashi Kumar, PCCF in his key note address appreciated the efforts undertaken by Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANSCU in providing various benefits to the unemployed youths by means of extending various income generation schemes. He has also stressed that the knowledge of computers are must in the present age. An individual is said to be educated only if he knows computer very well. The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Shri. Gyas Meshack, Vice Chairman, ANSCU.
