Port Blair, Nov 03: An Amphibious Exercise ‘Jal Prahar’ was conducted by HQ Andaman & Nicobar Command from 27 Oct 14 to 03 Nov 14. Forces from Eastern Naval Command and Andaman & Nicobar Command participated in the exercise. The aim of the exercise was to check preparedness and readiness of Armed Forces to ensure functional integrity of all three services and security of the Islands. Ships, aircrafts and troops along with tanks from both the Commands participated in the exercise.
The exercise was conducted in a manner, keeping all fragile environmental and ecological aspect in mind. The support extended by State Administration made it possible to conduct the exercise successfully. Vice Admiral PK Chatterjee, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Commander-in-Chief Andaman & Nicobar Command supervised the conduct of exercise.
