Port Blair, Nov 02: A short spell of heavy rainfall this afternoon knocked down two electric poles, situated on the right side of Chatham Bridge. Both the poles standing close to each other collapsed at around 1.30 pm, on the Chatham Bridge with live power cables. Luckily no one was injured in this accident.
The Police and Electricity Department however, removed both the electric poles and power cables without much delay after cutting the power. Movement of vehicles on Chatham Bridge, was disrupted for a while.
