Mayabunder, Oct 27: A resolution has been passed by the Bar Association, Mayabunder to abstain from work indefinitely from 27.10.2014 due to the acute shortage of staff at Mayabunder Court and for the said reason the Ld. Members (Advocates) of Mayabunder BAR are unable to get their certified copies in time and there are many other problems.
The matter was earlier brought to the notice of the Administration and also the concerned authorities but till date no fruitful action has been initiated for posting of staff by the competent authority which forced the Bar Association Mayabunder to take such hard decision.
The Bar Association of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Port Blair has also followed the same resolution passed by the Bar Association Mayabunder and shall not transact any business before any Hon’ble Court of law at Port Blair till further resolution is received by the BAR Association, Mayabunder.
Such indefinite cease of work will increase the trouble / grief of public spending a huge amount to attend the court that are coming between Baratang to Lamiyabay of Middle and North Andaman District for one or other work. In most of offices / department functioning at Mayabunder faces the similar problems.
