Port Blair, Oct 14: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma met the Chief Secretary Shri Anand Prakash and submitted him that residents of Southern group of Islands have informed him that for last three years their children are celebrating Diwali festival without any crackers whereas their counterparts in other islands are enjoying it. It is due to the reason that for carrying of crackers no boat is available since these crackers are carried by boat having license to carry explosive . Hence Kuldeep has requested him to consider to send a boat having license for carrying explosives for sending crackers to the Southern group of Islands before Diwali so that the residents, especially the children, may celebrate the festival with joy and happiness. The Chief Secretary has assured to look into the matter.
