Port Blair, Oct 13: The President, General Employees Union, Kuldeep Rai Sharma along with a delegate met the Chief Secretary Shri Anand Prakash who is also Chairman, PMB today to discuss genuine grievances of the workmen employed in the establishment of Andaman Labour Force under Port Management Board. In the meeting, Kuldeep has requested the Chief Secretary, after briefing him of the irregularities in details, to amend the recruitment rules for the post of Winchman, Signalman and Head worker. He has also requested the Chief Secretary to provide sufficient fund to Andaman Labour Force, PMB under the DTE head of account so that the workers do not suffer due paucity of funds and their final TA bills on retirement be settled early. The Chief Secretary has given a patient hearing and assured to look into the matters.
