Port Blair, Sept 25: From the Range Office, Bathu Basti one road goes towards CIARI, which is always clean and maintained by municipal persons, while one road goes towards Pathargadda which is always dirty and no proper arrangement for garbage disposal. Last year during visit of Lt. Governor, A& N Admin. to CIARI, Port Blair, he saw the bad condition of the road which is going towards Pathargadda and gave an order to correct that. As a result the road was renovate within timeframe and few dustbin had put along the side of road, but after that nobody came till date to collect the garbage from dustbin, result all have been damaged and waste material has been dispersed along the side of road.
If you ask someone that who is caretaker of this ward the people will reply that “Except God nobody knows”. The complete area looks like hell and peoples are helpless to throw the garbage here and there. Government has launched “Swach Bharat abhiyaan” hope some benefit of the programme will reach to this area also.
