Port Blair, Sept 12: With the arrest of Sanjay Kumar Das R/o New Paharagaon a sensational burglary case has been worked out within a week by the efforts of team of PS Ograbraj led by S.I Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Ograbraj.
On 04/09/2014,a case of theft by an unknown person in the house of Shri. Sanjay Singh R/o Mitha Khariwas reported at PS Ograbraj by the maid, as the owner of the house alongwith his family had gone to Rangat to attend a marriage function.
Immediately, a case of burglary vide crime No.100/14 dated 04/09/2014 U/s 454/380 IPC was registered at PS Ograbraj and investigation taken up by SI Sanjay Kumar. A team was formed and all out sincere efforts were made. The team succeeded in rounding up the suspects. On sustained interrogation, one suspect Sanjay Kumar Das R/o New Pahargaon accepted his guilt and was arrested on 10/09/14. Further, on his disclosure, entire stolen jewellery worth Rs.6.50 Lakhs and some cash has been recovered from his possession which was hidden by him at his house. During investigation, it is also revealed that accused Sanjay Kumar Das @ Sanju is also involved in four other cases of burglary. Thereafter, accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court of CJM, Port Blair and his four days PC remand has been obtained to verify other facts.
The arrest of accused and recovery of entire stolen properties in the instant case was possible due to the sincere and concerted efforts made by the team comprising of S.I Mohd. Rafique, HC/816 Prabhu Nath, PC/2343 Biju George, PC/1401 Rajdhari Yadav, PC/1533 Apurba Biswas, PC/1249 Bhaskar Karmakar of PS Ograbraj.
