Mayabunder,Sept 12: Indian Coast Guard Station Mayabunder and Coast Guard Ship C-147 conducted Special Community interaction programme at Chainpur and Rangat respectively on 10 Sep 14. The local populace were briefed on the role played by them especially the fishermen community in Coastal Security appartus and stressed upon the fishermen to become eyes and ears at sea for the security agencies.
In addition the Indian Coast Guard highlighted the importance of safety norms to be implemented when fishing at sea. Uses of personnel safety gears were also demonstrated. Similar interactions are planned at Nimbudera on 24 Sep 14 and Rampur & Pokkadera on 15 Oct 14. Indian coast guard authorities have requested whole hearted cooperation from Dignitaries and fishermen of respective areas for successful conduct of events.
