Havelock, Aug 13: In a tragic incident a cargo dinghy capsized very close to Havelock Island on 11th August 2014.
According to reports two residents of Havelock Island Mr. Tarkeshwar Paik @ Tarak and Mr. Bidyarajan Biswas @ Ranjan were about to reach Havelock Island with cargo from Port Blair at around 11.30 am when a massive wave hit their dinghy. The dinghy reportedly capsized in no time.
Both Tarkeshwar Paik and Bidyaranjan Biswas got hold of empty Jerrycans and started to float.
Anyhow Bidyaranjan Biswas @ Ranjan reached the shore of Char Nariyal Village but he could not see Tarkeshwar Paik, who was just behind.
Totally tired Bidyaranjan Biswas took rest in some house for some hours and then he reached to Havelock Bazaar area, from where he was immediately shifted to hospital by Police.
According to report till now neither Tarkeshwar Paik nor the dinghy could be located by the police.
As per Bidyaranjan Biswas, Tarkeshwar Paik was very confident of reaching the shore and had told him while swimming that anyhow he will make it to the shore.
The search for Tarkeshwar Paik has been intensified, it has been learnt.
