Port Blair, Aug 07: The Department of Agriculture in association with Union Territory of Agricultural Technology Management Agency (UTATMA) has conducted demonstration on “Proportion of farming system approach for sustainable Agriculture development and ensured return” at M.P Farm, Keralapuram on 06/08/14 at 10.00am.
The Assistant Director, Diglipur Shri P.S.prasad in his welcome address emphasized on the importance of organic farming and the use of biopesticides for sustainable Agriculture development and ensured return. Shri Abdul Nazir. A.A.Rangat explained in detail about the process involved in preparation and usage of biopesticides and demonstrated it practical using locally available botanicals. Shri. Prashant, A.A urged the farmers to come forward and adopt these techniques as it is ecofriendly and economical. Shri. Sreekumar, Sarpanch, Keralapuram distributed the inputs to the farmers.
Altogether 20 farmers including farmer’s friends graced the programme by their active presence. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Smti. Shirly Thomas, A.O, Diglipur. The Programme was co-ordinated by Block Technology Manager & Assistant Technology Managers.
